Things you need to ask yourself before buying a rollator

In every family there are elderly persons who are the victims of restricted locomotion. Apart from age related issues, there are also numerous deadly diseases like muscular dystrophy, Amylotropic lateral sclerosis, Progeria and other nerve related disorders which cause severe mobility problems. In this earth, nothing is constant so how can you allow your close affected ones to lead a constant life? Green Rollator is there for their help. These types of walkers are modified version of wheel chairs providing mobility along with safety seat. They are a great substitute for walking sticks as they support both arms and back.

But before buying a mobility chair, you need to be specific about the rollator, some basic check list includes:

Built of the walker:

If the said person, who will avail the walker is on the heavier side of the weight scale then a steel based walker is best. If Weight is not a concern, then you can buy an aluminium crafted walker, they are resistant to rust.

Height of the walker:

As in case of chair height is a criteria to consider, similarly when you are heading for a walker do consider the height of the walker, as in its legs and then compare with the height of the person for whom you are buying the same. A height mismatch may give rise to unnecessary discomfort.

Other things to look for:

  • Nature of wheels: whether it is strong enough to roll on the outdoor uneven roads
  • Seat and its comfort
  • The swift mobility of the mini vehicle
Instead of giving sympathy, gift that person a mobility solution. A solution that will change their life and will help them to enjoy an independent life without the help of other people.
